Ötzi

My first movie! Still shot on 16mm.

Ogun, or Ötzi, as he called himself, worked as a transvestite in a bar in Berlin's Kreuzberg district. He led a double life: his Turkish family didn´t know that he worked as a stripper . Still living with his parents, he spent a lot of time with an old woman where he got changed and for whom he cared until she died. In the days after her death, I met Ogün casually in the street and the the idea for this short film was born.

"Ogun also has the Blues" was premiered in 1998 at the Leipzig International Film Festival.
